Technical basics
For your preliminary course enrolment, some technical basics must be set up beforehand.
Even if you are not taking part in the preliminary courses, the following information is important for starting at the TH OWL.
1) User Account
When you enrol, you will receive a user account consisting of a user name (e.g. abc-def) and an activation password. Log in at https://idm.th-owl.de/activate for the first time to activate your access and set your own password.
Please note the two-factor authentication (further information on this can be found in our documentation).
User access enables the Usage of all university IT services, such as the WLAN network, the e-mail account, the learning platform, research workstations, printing services or logging into the library catalogue.
2) University Dial-in (VPN)
You can dial into the university network from the Internet (regardless of where you are on your device) via the university dial-in and thus gain access to content [including from eCampus (ILIAS)]. To activate the university login, you will need your university certificate in addition to your user account. You can find out the details heree here.
3) E-Mail
You will also receive your own university e-mail address, [email protected], which you can access here with your user data.
Good to know: We will only communicate with you via your university e-mail address. Therefore, please check your e-mails regularly and do not use your private address within the university.
4) Learning plattform eCampus (ILIAS)
The eCampus (ILIAS) gives you access to all the materials accompanying your courses, such as lecture notes and presentations. You can also exchange information with lecturers and fellow students here.
You can find detailed instructions for all the technical basics mentioned on the following page(IT-)Basics to the start of your studies
Pre-course enrolment
5) Registration in the eCampus (ILIAS)
If you have not already done so, log in to eCampus (ILIAS) with your user account (e.g. abc-def).
6) Selection of the preliminary course
Now select the link to the preliminary courses on the left-hand side. You can join the respective pre Courses on the following page.
Note: The maths pre-course is subdivided into thematic courses. In order to join these courses (and thus access the self-study content), you must have previously taken the Diagnostic Entry Test.
After joining, you will have access to the online areas. You will find the direct link to this on your dashboard from this point onwards. In the courses you will receive all further information, such as the dates and the link or room number to the respective practice courses.
7) Selection of tutorials
In the maths, physics, chemistry and English pre-courses, select the tutorial or course you would like to attend and click on "Join". You will then receive confirmation that you have successfully joined. If you subsequently wish to join another tutorial course, you can cancel your registration by clicking on "Cancel membership".
Note: You can only register for maths practice courses once you have completed the diagnostic entry test and joined the relevant thematic courses."
