Help
In the following list you will find answers to frequently asked questions about the preliminary courses.
General information
Firstly, you must activate your user account (at https://idm.th-owl.de/activate) and your new university e-mail address (at https://webmail.th-owl.de). Please note the two-factor authentication (further information on this can be found in our documentation)
Then log in to eCampus with your user data and select the pre-courses you are interested in. In addition to a confirmation email, you will then receive access to the online areas of the selected pre-courses.
Registration is possible from 05 August 2024. You can find more information here.
Here you can find out what content is important for your degree programme.
Yes, that is possible. You can register via the eCampus.
You can start the preliminary courses at any time. However, in order to ensure that there are enough places available in the practice courses, we ask you to register in good time.
The preliminary courses are offered in different formats:
- The English pre-course takes place as a four-day online seminar.
- The chemistry, maths and physics pre-courses consist of comprehensive online material which you work through independently, i.e. at your own pace and with your own learning strategy, regardless of time and place.
You can ask any questions that arise during your studies in regular tutorials. In addition to clarifying your questions, you will work on tasks together at these meetings and discuss the solutions.
Important: The tutorials serve to support your learning process. You work on the online materials independently at your own pace and can then attend the tutorials to clarify questions and deepen your knowledge.
You will receive the dates for the tutorials after you have registered in eCampus and here on the website.
The preliminary courses are a voluntary programme. Participation is recommended as the courses provide you with important basic knowledge that you will need for your degree programme. You can also get to know fellow students and find study groups.
No problem. You can edit your entries in the pre-course registration and thus book a new course and cancel the incorrectly booked one.
It is a shame if you miss out on content, but this cannot always be avoided. Competing dates should not prevent you from attending at least the other days.
Your profile must be authorised for this. You can find instructions here.
Questions about the preliminary maths course
You can ask any questions that arise during your preparation to experienced teachers and students in the regular tutorials. In addition to clarifying your questions, tasks are worked on together at these meetings and the solutions are discussed.
There is also a glossary in which all mathematical terms can be found.
You can find the dates in the eCampus (ILIAS).
The preliminary maths course consists of two parts: Firstly, you will work through the online material independently. Then you can take part in the tutorials to clarify questions and consolidate your newly acquired knowledge by working on (group) tasks and discussing solutions.
Yes, the test must be taken so that you can receive learning recommendations. The maths pre-course contains a lot of content, so it would take too long to work through all of it. The introductory test will tell you specifically where you have gaps in your knowledge.
The results cannot be viewed by your future professor!
To access the courses, you must have completed the Diagnostic Entry Test beforehand. Don't worry: the results of the test are only visible to the learning recommendations (from the system) and to you.
No, the results of the tests are only visible to the learning recommendations (from the system) and to you.
You will not be able to see the results of the initial test, as the test will be repeated in a similar form at the end of the course to determine your learning progress.
You can find out the initial results for the learning objectives by clicking on "Initial test result" (on the left above the speedometer symbol). Here you can compare the results and sample solutions by clicking on the respective questions.
You can find the results from the training in the respective learning objectives under "" "Training" "" "Results" "" "Detailed results".
No problem. Instead of "Log in", you can use "Log out" when selecting the tutorials. Once you have saved the change, you can log in to the other tutorial.
