Studyguide
To make it easier for you as a first-semester student to start your studies and to give you the opportunity to optimally prepare for your studies in the time before you start, the Teaching and Learning Team (TeLL) at TH OWL offers you the online course Studyguide as a supportive preparation and information service.
Contents
The course contains important information about the university and tips on organising your studies. Here you will find information and learning materials on basic skills for successful study as well as interdisciplinary workshops on the topic of study methodology. The course includes the following topics, among others:
- Usage of the university learning platform eCampus (ILIAS)
- Networking opportunities
- Self- and time management
- Learning strategies
- Methods for academic work
- Announcements of dates for various workshops (e.g. on study methodology)
- Information on individual development (e.g. the Erasmus programme)
And because studying is not just about studying, you will also find information in the Studyguide about compensatory programmes, for example:
- University groups such as the General Students' Committee (AStA), the university radio station (Triquency) or the individual student councils and their offers (e.g. sports programmes)
- Tips on how to make the most of the Student season ticket offer
- Events and leisure activities in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region
The Studyguide is presented as a timetable so that students receive study tips and important information about the TH OWL every month. In addition to consultation hours, there is also a wiki to look up important information and over 30 worksheets for self-study.
